CRYSTALTON NEWS 2009
Early part of the year we were not far from home as we had a litter of 8 Standard Poodles in March, from Samantha bred to Christopher, who lives with Sandy Burgess. That kept Sandy busy more than us until they were 7 weeks old when they arrived here for their temperament testing, grading, grooming and placed in their new homes. A very busy few weeks.
One boy puppy (Lucas) was kept from that litter and is living with Sandy. He was shown as a junior puppy in Camrose in October and Red Deer in Nov to achieve his Championship undefeated and won a Best Puppy In Group.
In April we had the Pomeranian litter from Megan bred to Can AM CH Silhouette Say It Right, owned by Chriscendo Poms. A lovely litter of 4, WOW!
I was away a fair amount judging in Canada and the US the early part of the year and flew out to Vancouver Island to judge a show the beginning of August, flying home the night of the 5th after judging, to leave early in the morning for our road trip. Friends of ours, Marly and Jerry Harvey and Gary and I and all our dogs left in our new 40 foot Motor Homes towing our new cars. Marly and Jerry with 1 German Shepherd, 1 Miniature Poodle, 1 Toy Poodle and 1 Standard Poodle, We had 1 Standard Poodle and 8 Pomeranians. Off we went, New Brunswick bound where we did 5 shows and Peanut won the Group every show. We then went sight seeing and off to Nova Scotia where we had a wonderful 2 day visit with Chris and John of Chriscendo Kennels. We got to meet all their dogs and they were able to help grade my litter, which we had taken 3 of with us.
We then went back to Ontario where we did the SD& G shows, beautiful venue and a good time was had by all. Peanut again won the group and my Standard Poodle Ruby made her debut into the ring where she won points and 2 Best Puppy In Groups.
We then headed down through the US making our way back home, visiting with friends and relatives, arriving home the middle of Sept.
Ruby was shown one more weekend the end of Sept. to achieve her Championship with 3 Best Of Breeds, 3 Group 2nds and Best Puppy In Groups, and 1 Best Puppy In Show.
In Sept we had another litter 9 Standard Poodles from Darla bred to MG who lived with Suzanne Zoratti, Darla's co-owner, then came and went from here at age 7 weeks and up until all were in their new homes. Two of which will be seen in the show ring next year.
Come fall Sadie and Sassy the 2 Pom babies made their debut into the show ring with Sadie shown twice and has 6 points, Sassy shown once has 2 points.
Peanut finished off the year winning a Best In Show at Calgary Kennel and Obedience Club. Now makes him number 1 Pomeranian again and number 8 Toy dog.
Megan's new litter of Poms was born on November 16, all of 1 boy Puppy, doing well.
Fingers crossed that he will be our new star.
We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.
See you all next year.
